New increased fees for Polish citizenship applications from July 1, 2025

The amendment to the Repatriation Act, which is currently awaiting the signature of the President of the Republic of Poland, introduces a significant increase in stamp duties for filing any type of application for Polish citizenship in Poland.

Significant changes to stamp duties will apply to all types of administrative decisions, regardless of whether the official's decision is positive or negative.

Below is a full list of new and updated stamp duties, which will come into force on July 1, 2025:

  • granting Polish citizenship by the President of the Republic of Poland - PLN 1,669 (previously PLN 0),
  • consent of the President of the Republic of Poland to renounce Polish citizenship - PLN 1,669 (previously PLN 0),
  • recognition as a Polish citizen by a voivode - PLN 1,000 for an adult and PLN 0 for a minor child of a Polish citizen (previously PLN 219),
  • restoration of Polish citizenship - PLN 1,000 (previously PLN 219),
  • confirmation of Polish citizenship - PLN 277 (previously PLN 58).

Polish citizenship proceedings are complicated and require knowledge not only of the laws related to Polish citizenship, but also of the administrative processes involved in submitting applications for a Polish passport. Very often, a small mistake can result in the rejection of an application for Polish citizenship, and the planned increase in administrative fees can significantly increase the costs of applying for Polish citizenship.

The Citizens' Affairs Office guarantees a comprehensive and complete analysis of the legal situation of a foreigner, selection of the optimal procedure for obtaining Polish citizenship and flawless preparation of complete documentation for each application for Polish citizenship. This is guaranteed by the many years of unique experience of the owner of our Office, gained while working in the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland.

We invite you to contact us urgently before June 30 to submit applications under the old rules, in order to save considerable expenses. We also invite you to contact us after July 1, because it is not worth risking the loss of a high stamp duty by submitting an incomplete or incorrectly prepared application for Polish citizenship.

Remember – if for various reasons you do not qualify for Polish citizenship, we will tell you about it before you submit your application, and you will only pay us the consultation costs – we do not charge our Clients the full cost of the service if, in our opinion, they have a low chance of obtaining Polish citizenship. In this way, you will avoid unnecessary costs, and we will develop an individual action plan for you, thanks to which obtaining Polish citizenship will become only a matter of time for you.
